It seems that we often wait until New Year to consider what our experiences were like in the previous year. Then we make New Year’s resolutions that we rarely keep. Why not try something different? Let’s look back and give ourselves a three month head start on changing what we think could use improvement
Think of this as your fall retooling!
If you are computer savvy, open a word document so that you can look at the blog and answer the questions.
First, reflect on your successes and failures over the current year. What were they and what did you learn from each one? How will they change who you are or what you do?
Second, consider the friendships that you have lost and gained. Were these your choices? What caused these changes? Do you like these changes?
Third, assess what ‘gifts’ you have giving and what you have received. Gifts can mean different things to each of us. List what you gave and received. Were you more of a giver or a receiver in the first 9 months of the year? Discuss the value of each gift.
Fourth, what have you gained or lost during the year? List each one and try to assess the significance of these changes.
Lastly, what are the things that you want to remember and what do you want to forget during the last nine months? Why did you choose these things?
Now take the next three month to use what you have learned and make this a great year for you.
Today’s truth: Your values and knowledge are only helpful if you use them. Lead your life as if you have a clear goal.
